Meet Bobby Brandon
There's a moment in any long distance race where you hit the proverbial "wall". For example, most runners will tell you that in a marathon, it usually comes around mile 21 or 22. Your body wants to shut down and moving forward becomes a test of will and mental fortitude. Bobby Brandon knows this feeling well. As an avid triathlete and runner, he's a veteran of many long distance events and has completed more than 15 marathons and three full Ironman races (which happen to include a full 26.2 mile marathon in addition to a 2.4 mile swim and a 112-mile bike ride).
"I like it when things get tough on a run. It's when I know I'm pushing myself to the limit," Bobby says. "I simply won't allow myself to quit until I've achieved my goal."
Drive and Determination
This driven mentality is one of Bobby's defining traits. He grew up on a farm and learned the value of a hard day's work, the importance of honesty and that "a hand shake is as good as your word." Bobby also spent 12 years working in the railroad industry. Always passionate about trains since he was a little boy, Bobby loved the job, but it was demanding work. On one fateful day, though, a freight train he was on derailed and he broke several bones along his spine. Surviving the accident and working hard to recover had a major impact on Bobby. It gave him a new lease on life and instilled him with the positive outlook that drives him today.
After he recovered fully, Bobby became even more determined as a distance runner, getting into marathons and triathlons. Training for these events takes not only physical strength but a lot of inner strength, self determination and a "never give up" attitude.
One of his biggest sources of inner strength is his family, which includes wife Teresa, and their son, Jack. "Teresa has always been my rock and I would not be the man I am today without her love and support," Bobby says. "Whenever I hit the wall in a race or life itself, all I have to do is think about my family and that's all the inspiration I need to push forward."
A Man of Action
Bobby's honesty, his drive to give his all and his willingness to always go the distance are the cornerstone traits of his long-running real estate career. For nearly two decades, he has helped people throughout the Wilmington area achieve their home buying and selling goals with a truly dedicated and action-oriented approach. Bobby cares about his clients and makes it his personal mission to provide the best real estate service around--he definitely goes the extra mile. "It's not in my nature to give anything less than my absolute best every day," he says. Bobby truly lives by the Golden Rule--always treat others as you want to be treated!
Another parallel between Bobby's career and his passion for running is his desire to always push himself forward. A true student of the game with a bachelor's degree in Marketing from UNC-Wilmington, he's always looking for new ways to better himself as a professional and raise the bar in the local market. Everybody around town knows Bobby for his television commercial - it's just one of many ways he connects buyers and sellers throughout the area. From cutting-edge technology to ongoing education, he strives to stay one step ahead of the competition at all times.
